At PRFMS we have a lot of ways to get together and enjoy music....our own, and others. We hope you'll want to join us.

Old Time Dance Parties
PRFMS' Old Time Dance parties are one of our most popular, regular events- a family-oriented evening of down-home music (provided by a live band- our Plank Road All Volunteer String Band!), wonderful instruction suitable for folks who've never danced before, and grand conversation - with refreshments! If you are a musician with a hankering to haul out that old banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, mouth harp, bass, accordion (or whatever) and regain some of the old chops, come and join us. If you are a dancer, or even think it looks fun, or if you just want to watch and join in the revelrie, come join us. Held at the Two Way Street Coffee House
All Volunteer String Band
The All-Volunteer String Band has been based on a "no-experience necessary" philosphy, that also includes very polished musicians. We learn from each other, practice, and play for the Old Time Barn Dances. Anything from fiddles, banjos, mandolins, and basses to harmonicas, dulcimers (both lap and hammered), dobros, spoons and even washboards are welcome. Contact Jones family Music School in Lombard (630) 889-9121. The All Volunteer String Band also has a "string band jam" on the second saturday of each month for anyone who wants to brush up on fiddle tunes (meoldies or back-up).
