Plank Road Folk Music Society and the Two Way Street Coffee House co-sponsor a Sing-Around at the Coffee House on the first and third Saturday of each month at 2:00-4:00 pm. The sessions are open to everyone who wishes to raise a voice, play an acoustic instrument or just sit and listen to a group of folks singing and "raising the roof ".

Song Circle; "BYOS " - Bring Your Own Songs, 7 PM at the Two Way Street Coffee House located at 1047 Curtiss Street, Downers Grove. This is a monthly gathering where you have an opportunity to try out a song unplugged in a song circle setting. These can be original songs you have written, or songs written by others.
Every 4th Saturday it’s time for some good old country music. It’ll be just like our regular sing-arounds, but with strictly classic country tunes. Open to all, from 2 to 4 PM at the Two Way Street Coffee House
Plank Road's Old-Time Barn Dances are one of our most popular regular events- a family-oriented evening of down-home music (provided by a live band- Plank Road String Band!), wonderful instruction suitable for folks who've never danced before, and grand conversation - with refreshments! If you are a musician with a hankering to haul out that old banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, mouth harp, bass, accordion (or whatever) and regain some of the old chops, come and join us. If you are a dancer, or even think it looks fun, or if you just want to watch and join in the revelry, come join us. Held at the Two Way Street Coffee House
The Plank Road String Band holds monthly practices on the second Saturday of each month between September and April and performs at Plank Road barn dances and other community events, such as Lombard Prairie Days, Danada Fall Festival and Downers Grove Rotary GroveFest and more.
String Band practice is open to newcomers. Those who are interested in playing with the band should be able to play their instruments at an intermediate level and be able to follow along with the tunes. Folks that would like to play with the String Band at barn dances and in performances need to attend the monthly practices regularly, become familiar with the music and practice at home. If you have any questions, please contact Jen at 630.518.2619.
